A FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM MS. SENIOR FLORIDA 2020/21

EDINA MCGRATH

It all began to happen on December 12, 2020, while I was sitting at my friend’s home watching the web presentation of the Ms. Senior Florida Pageant 2020-21. The winners were announced and to my overwhelming surprise, it was announced that I, Edina McGrath, was to be crowned Ms. Senior Florida 2020 – 21.  I was also awarded “Best Talent,” of which I tap danced.  My first thought was, “Oh Lord, what an honor you have given me to represent beautiful senior women all over the state of Florida.”

So, at the age of 94 I began the most wonderful, interesting and challenging adventure of my life:

            •     Riding in a convertible limousine in a 4thof July parade

            •     Interviewed on radio & television

            •     Meeting governors & mayors

            •     Honored at a ribbing cutting ceremony for a medical center

            •     Guest speaker at senior retirement centers and health events

It has been such a joy to be able to encourage seniors and to be a part of the pageant’s mission to educate, motivate and inspire senior women to live healthy and productive lifestyles. But most importantly – to be beautiful on the inside and to enjoy these best years of their lives with faith and trust in God. He can make our lives a blessing to others.

As I end my reign as Ms. Senior Florida 2020-21 and hand my title, not my crown to the new queen, I pray that this will be the beginning of the best year of your life – that you will always treasure this time and wear your crown with great honor as you represent senior women not only in the state of Florida, but ultimately all over the world.

May God bless you Ms. Senior Florida 2022 and I pray that the work of the Ms. Senior Florida Pageant continues for many years.
